Thorough Radon Testing & Mitigation Services

Accurate testing is key to understanding your radon risk. That’s why we use a continuous radon monitor for at least 48 hours. If levels exceed 4.0 pCi/L, which is the EPA’s recommended action level, we’ll develop a tailored mitigation plan to reduce those levels quickly and effectively. Here’s how our process works:

  1. We begin with a consultation to place a continuous radon detector and assess your home for any factors that might influence radon levels.
  2. If results show elevated levels, we move forward with mitigation by depressurizing the soil beneath your home to block radon from rising indoors.
  3. We drill a suction point in the foundation slab, install a PVC pipe, and vent the radon safely through a fan system located in the attic or along the exterior of the home.
  4. We seal cracks, gaps, and other openings to help prevent additional radon from entering.
  5. After installation, we inspect the system and return within 30 days to re-test and confirm that radon levels remain within safe limits.

If you're concerned about radon, don’t wait. We offer free estimates and professional testing throughout North Carolina, including Pisgah Forest and surrounding areas.

Dehumidifiers & Indoor Air Quality Solutions

Maintaining a healthy home goes beyond radon. That’s why we also offer indoor air quality solutions to reduce allergens, mold, dust, VOCs, and excess moisture. We install trusted systems like the Breathe EZ Air Cleaner, the Breathe EZ UVC Light, dehumidifiers, energy recovery ventilators (ERVs), and more. These systems help clean the air, control humidity, and support better health for you and your family.

Our indoor air quality services not only create a more comfortable home, but also improve HVAC performance and long-term property value.

Mold Removal & Remediation

Mold can cause serious structural damage and health problems if it’s not addressed properly. It grows on drywall, insulation, wood, and fabric, and spreads quickly in damp, poorly ventilated areas. Exposure can lead to respiratory issues, skin irritation, and allergies.

Our professional mold remediation services are designed to remove mold at the source and prevent it from returning.

We provide mold removal for:

  • Bathrooms
  • Basements
  • Attics
  • Black mold and other common strains

Job Stories From Pisgah Forest, NC
Crawl Space Radon Mitigation in Williamson Creek, Pisgah Forest

A homeowner in Pisgah Forest reached out with concerns about elevated radon levels. After inspection, we determined that the best solution would be a crawl space sub-membrane depressurization system to bring levels within EPA recommendations.

Our team began by installing a new 6-mil polyethylene vapor barrier across the entire crawl space, carefully sealing seams, penetrations, and edges to the foundation walls. This created a continuous air-tight membrane, critical for effective depressurization.

Next, we installed a radon suction point beneath the barrier and connected it to durable PVC piping routed to a radon-specific in-line fan. The fan was mounted in accordance with EPA/NRPP standards to ensure the system could safely and effectively pull radon gases from beneath the membrane and vent them outside.

To confirm performance, we provided the homeowner with a post-mitigation charcoal test kit and instructions for proper use within 24 hours to 30 days of activation. This test, or an EPA-approved continuous radon monitor, will verify the system is working as designed.

The result was a properly sealed and depressurized crawl space, tailored to the property’s needs and built to industry standards. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing their home is safer, healthier, and protected from radon for the long term.

Safe Home, Smooth Closing

During a real estate transaction, a radon test revealed elevated levels that could have jeopardized the deal. Instead of letting the issue stall negotiations, the buyers and sellers worked together to find a solution. They agreed to have us install a radon mitigation system so that everyone could move forward with confidence.

By designing and installing the system to EPA standards, we helped provide peace of mind for both parties ensuring the home was safer and allowing the sale to close smoothly.

At Carolina Radon, we’re proud to help homeowners, buyers, and sellers accomplish their goals while protecting what matters most.
